Content Strategy Package
Tired of struggling with your personal finance content?
Without a strong content plan in place, you’re probably frustrated with your content’s results.
Maybe you struggle to come up with ideas. Your readers aren’t converting well into leads or new customers. Or your existing content stopped getting views long ago.
Maybe you don’t have the time or resources to manage your content on your own.
Working with a freelance content strategist can change all that.
What is a content strategy?
A content strategy is a detailed, long-term plan for your content that leverages your current assets and strategically proposes new ones.
Your strategy targets the goals that matter to you — generating leads, acquiring new customers, reducing support calls for common customer pain points, boosting brand awareness, improving SEO ranking, and more. And that strategy leads to a content plan that helps you achieve those specific goals you identify.
What is a content plan or content calendar?
A content plan (or content calendar) gives you a clear blueprint for all your content — ideas for blog posts, articles, infographics, case studies, and more. It tells you exactly what content you’ll create, when you’ll publish it, and how it fits into your overall content strategy.
Your customized plan is built from a detailed analysis of your target audience, your current resources, your competitors’ content, and the opportunities your content is not yet taking advantage of.
Why invest in content strategy and content calendar creation?
A content strategy coupled with a well-planned content calendar can help you . . .
♦ BOOST YOUR SEO with valuable content that answers the questions people are searching for
♦ INCREASE TRAFFIC to your website
♦ CONVERT YOUR AUDIENCE — turning more visitors into leads and more leads into customers
♦ BUILD YOUR REPUTATION as a reliable resource and a thought leader in your industry
♦ LEVERAGE YOUR EXISTING CONTENT by optimizing it for SEO or repurposing it as new content
♦ SAVE YOUR EMPLOYEES TIME by answering common customer questions upfront with your content

(OPTIONAL ADD-ON) ASSET #4: A Three-Month Content Plan

Once you’ve reviewed the content recommendations, you’ll share which ones you’d like to adopt moving forward. You’ll then receive a done-for-you, 3-month content calendar that includes all this:
♦ A suggested publishing schedule to fit your business’s needs, align with holidays and product launches, and allow for optimal internal linking
♦ Clearly defined topic ideas for brand-new content — both hot seasonal topics and evergreen pillar content
♦ Recommendations for the format, length, and substance of each piece of content
♦ A plan to create resources for your target audience at every stage of the buyer’s journey
♦ Recommended updates for existing content — optimizing for SEO, freshening statistics, expanding as needed, and strengthening your existing library

♦ . . . and much more
With your content plan in hand, you’ll have a comprehensive view of your upcoming content that you can share with key stakeholders to get their buy-in.
Plus, when you know what’s coming, you can prepare in advance to round up your writers or SMEs and promote your new content.
How this process works
STAGE 1: Information Gathering
You complete a content questionnaire that shares key information about your business and your current content — your target audience(s), your competitors, where your content can be found, how much content you want to produce, what questions you often get from your prospects and customers, and more.
You’ll also share requested metrics on the performance of your existing content (page views, conversion rate, referral sources, etc.).
Tip: Get input from people in your organization who can offer insight into your audience’s needs, pain points, and questions. (Consider agents, advisors, support teams, account managers, etc.)
STAGE 2: Content Analysis & Strategy Recommendations
At this stage, I complete the Brand Audit and Competitor Audits. Based on that analysis and the information you’ve provided, I produce a set of recommended strategies and improvements for your content moving forward.
You’ll receive those results in a detailed report that walks you through the analysis and recommendations.
STAGE 3: Strategy Review
Once you’ve reviewed the content report, you review the analysis and recommendations. We discuss any questions, observations, or ideas from your team.
(OPTIONAL ADD-ON) STAGE 4: Content Plan Proposal
If you choose the Three-Month Content Plan Add-On to the Content Strategy Package . . .
At this stage, we’ll have some firm ideas about the direction you’d like to take with your content. Based on that discussion, I’ll send you a proposal for the Three-Month Content Plan, including the rate for that service.
If you’re happy with that proposal, we’ll move on to the next step.
(OPTIONAL ADD-ON) STAGE 5: Delivery of Content Plan
If you choose the Three-Month Content Plan Add-On to the Content Strategy Package . . .
Based on your decisions around my content strategy recommendations, I create a three-month content plan. The plan you receive is customized specifically to your business, your content needs, your audience, and your desired publishing frequency.
Depending on your preferred content formats, that content plan may include detailed ideas for blog posts, resource center articles, infographics, and case studies.
With that content plan, you’ve got a ready-to-go blueprint for your next three months of content!
