What types of writing projects do you do?

I work with mid- and large-sized companies in the financial services sector, as well as content agencies and publishers.

My expertise is the creation of B2C content focused on personal finance topics. Among those topics are credit & lending, retirement planning, investing, insurance, college planning, budgeting, and entrepreneurship.

I craft articles, blog posts, pieces with interviews, case studies, infographic copy, and copy for content upgrades and lead magnets.

What services are included in your quoted rate?

When you work with me, you get so much more than just words on a page. As a full-service writer committed to your content’s success, I include these valuable services with every piece I create. Plus, you can choose to customize your project with powerful extras that put your content over the top.

Will you make revisions to a piece if I need some changes?

Absolutely! I want you to be 100% satisfied with the final piece. All of my pieces come with unlimited free rounds of minor revisions, so you’re thrilled with the final piece.

What rights to a piece do you typically sell?

The default rights I grant for my blog posts and online articles are all rights.

By paying for my work, you purchase the copyright, which grants you the ability to treat the content as your own. Feel free to publish, republish, make changes, repurpose the content, and more.

Do you use artificial intelligence (AI) like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or Bard to create content?

I never use content-generating AI in creating my content. All of my content is researched and crafted by a human — me! I’m currently not open to creating or revising AI-generated content.

What’s included in your content strategy package?

Does your content strategy package include writing the content?

No, the package produces a done-for-you content plan, but it doesn’t include the actual writing of your content.

With your plan in hand, you’re free to have your content written in whatever manner works for you. That might be an internal writing team or freelance writers. If you do wish to use me as your writer, we can certainly discuss that option!

Communication

Do you provide a contract?

Yes. All of the details of our project — including project scope, agreed-upon services, deadlines, payment details, and sale of rights — are included in our written agreement. The written agreement provides both of us a clearly defined plan for meeting your project’s goals.

How do you send completed documents?

I will send the completed project to you according to the format specified in our written agreement.

Typically, I send work as a Microsoft Word document or Google Doc. I can also paste into an e-mail, upload it to your project management system, or deliver the project to you in some other format of your choosing.

What are your working hours?

I typically work during standard business hours (Eastern Time) Mondays through Friday.

I’m unavailable for U.S. holidays and take the occasional vacation or sick day.

How do you communicate with clients?

I typically communicate electronically so that we both have a written record of each phase of our project. I use e-mail unless you prefer to use your project management software. When a conversation makes more sense than e-mail, we can schedule a phone meeting at my hourly rate.

I am not available for video chat, text messages, or instant messaging.

What is your average e-mail response time?

If you’re a client with an active project, I’ll get back to you within a few hours during normal business hours.

If you’re inquiring about starting a new project with me, I’ll get back to you within two business days to discuss your needs.

Call I call you to get in touch with you quicker?

I’m happy to set up a phone meeting with you at my hourly rate, but I’m not available for unscheduled calls.

If we have an active project, please contact me via our usual communication method or leave me a voicemail if you prefer. (My voicemail response time is the same as my e-mail response time.)

Why can’t I get in touch with you instantaneously?

Your project is important and deserves my full attention. As a result, I don’t break my focus and stop working on it to respond instantaneously to an e-mail alert or ringing phone.

Can I tell you when, where, or how to work?

The entirety of our working arrangement is outlined in our written agreement. As I am working as a contractor and not an employee, I set my own work schedule and process. Any meetings specified in our written agreement or by mutual consent will be scheduled at times that work for both of us.

Rates & Payment

How much do you charge for your writing services?

I believe that great content is tailored precisely to what you need for your business. Your project is unique, so I don’t offer one-size-fits-all packages or pricing. You share with me your vision, and I provide a totally customized proposal and quote.

That said, you can get a ballpark for your project by viewing my services and rates.

How does payment work on your projects?

Our written agreement will contain the details of our agreed-upon payment schedule. If you’re a new client, that agreement will always include a down payment (typically 50% – 100% of the total project fee) due before work begins.

I invoice via FreshBooks, which allows you to make payments easily online.

Additional Information

Can I pay you to include my links in articles that you write for third-party sites?

I’m unable to accept payment from a separate client for creating articles for its site while simultaneously accepting payment from you for referencing your links. Doing so without labeling the content as sponsored would not only be a violation of FTC disclosure guidelines but would also be a significant breach of journalistic ethics. Writers who fail to disclose sponsorship and accept double payment for an article can easily find themselves in legal trouble and rightfully suffer major damage to their editorial reputation.

Ultimately, the determination for whether a site/publication accepts a sponsored post is up to the editorial team for that site and not up to the writer. When a sponsored piece is accepted by that site, the business whose data/links/opinions are being shared typically pays the full cost for the writing of the article.

Still want to be published on your favorite sites? Here’s what I can do:

If we’re a good fit, we can enter into an agreement in which I ghostwrite an article for you for my usual rate. You can then submit that article yourself to a third-party site for publication.

In these cases, I strongly recommend that you establish an agreement with that site regarding placement of your links before hiring me as a ghostwriter. Otherwise, it’s likely that you won’t be able to get your guest post published or it could be taken down for violations against the site’s contributor guidelines.
